UNDATED - It looks like most of north Georgia won't be getting as much rain from Hurricane Isaac as was expected earlier this week.
Most forecasts indicate that what's left of the storm will move inland too far to the west to have much impact on north Georgia, with the heaviest of the rain to the south of I-20. For instance, AccuWeather predicts less than 1.3 inches in Gainesville now through Thursday. Some forecasts earlier in the week were predicting 2-4 inches.
A flash flood watch is in effect, however, for two counties in southwest Georgia and several counties in parts of Alabama and Florida.
The National Weather Service has issued the flood watch for the Ochlockonee River in Georgia and Florida. Forecasters say Isaac could produce up to 5 inches of rainfall over the river basin by Wednesday morning, driving the river to minor flood stage.
In Georgia, the flood watch covers Grady and Thomas counties.
Forecasters say there's also a possibility of tornadoes in the southwest corner of the state.
