GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville swept a pair of matches and Johnson split in a tri-match Thursday at the Gainesville gym.
The Lady Elephants held off Johnson 25-18, 31-29 and then whipped Cedar Shoals 25-11, 25-8 in the second match. Johnson took a 25-7, 25-6 thumping over Cedar Shoals.
For Gainesville, Anna Walker had 23 kills and Kaylin Walden 29 assists to pace the offense. Grace Miller had 15 service points for the Lady Elephants (6-2).
For Johnson, Lindsey Anderson finished with 11 combined aces, three kills and two digs in the two matches. Lejavian Ratliff had six kills and two digs, Kasey Gravitt had three aces and three assists, and Savannah Turk recorded two digs and two kills for the Lady Knights (6-3).
