WomenSource offering screening of 'Iron Jawed Angels'

GAINESVILLE - WomenSource has scheduled a free screening of the 2004 HBO movie "Iron Jawed Angels" on Tuesday, August 28, at Quinlan Visual Arts Center.

The movie tells the true story of two young women and political activists, Alice Paul (Hilary Swank) and Lucy Burns (Frances O'Connor), who put everything on the line, including their lives, to help change American history by giving women the right to vote. The movie also stars Julia Ormond, Patrick Dempsey, and Anjelica Huston.

Dr. Heather Casey, Director of QEP & Associate Professor of Political Science at Brenau University will introduce the movie and provide brief historical information.

The event schedule will be:

5:30 Light dinner, catered by Mellow Mushroom
5:45 Introduction & Historical Info, by Dr. Heather Casey
6:00 Movie begins (124 minutes in length.)

This event is open to the public. You do not need to be a member of WomenSource to attend; however, because a light meal is included in the program, reservations are required. Doors open at 5:30. The movie will begin promptly at 6:00.
