UNDATED - Jackson County voters were among the latest voters across the state to approve the Sunday sale of alcohol.
The results of Tuesday's vote indicated that 56.2% of those who voted approved Sunday by-the-drink sales in unincoporated parts of the county; 43.8% were opposed. On the second question of packaged alcohol sales in unincorporated parts of the county, 56.14% votes yes, while 43.86% voted no.
Also, voters in Cobb and Fulton counties have approved Sunday alcohol sales in unincorporated areas of those counties.
Voters in the two counties already had approved the sales, but they had to decide the issue again after officials said Georgia law required more county residents to be able to vote, not just those in unincorporated areas.
