Closing arguments scheduled Tuesday in Gainesville murder trial

GAINESVILLE - Closing arguments are scheduled Tuesday in the murder trial of a Gainesville man accused in the death of his girlfriend's 18-month-old daughter last summer.

Steven Clark West's trial began in Hall County Superior Court last Monday.

The child's mother, Deanna Kipp, 24, is also charged in the death, although District Attorney Lee Darragh said last week her trial will not take place until later this year.

Kaylee Kipp's body was found on June 12, 2011 in a unit at the On Riverside Condominium complex in Gainesville.

Closing arguments are set to begin at 9:00 Tuesday morning.
