GAINESVILLE - State Representative Doug Collins (R-Gainesville) has become the first candidate running in the 9th Congressional District of Georgia to announce television advertisement. The 30-second ad will run from now until the July 31 Republican primary. It targets one of the other two candidates in the race, Martha Zoller. Collins and Zoller have been consistently at the top in straw polls taken the past several weeks by various political groups across the district.
"This district deserves a voice in Washington who can enact conservative change, and won't say one thing and do another," Collins said. "My record in the Georgia General Assembly shows I've been a bold supporter of good, common sense initiatives in our state, and that's something I'm very proud to have as the foundation for my Congressional campaign.
"We've got a great story to tell about what we've done, and an even better idea of what we want to do in Congress. I'm going to be an unyielding force in Washington to get government out of the way of private enterprise so we can get our economy working again. The past six years I've been working hard to put our conservative values into action, and it's time for Martha Zoller to fully explain why she's said these things."
