LAWRENCEVILLE - Gwinnett County commissioners have voted to keep property tax rates steady for another year.
For many property owners, it could mean smaller tax bills next year, since property values are declining across the county. The move leads to a drop in revenue of $15 million, but commissioners said at a meeting Tuesday night they had planned ahead for that at the start of this year by implementing a police and fire hiring freeze.
Gwinnett last hiked property taxes in 2009.
