Gainesville Heat hire Carroll as associate head coach

The Gainesville Heat announced Tuesday the hiring of associate head coach Mike Carroll.

Coach Carroll played basketball at Johnson High School for coach Jeff Steele and went on to act as head coach of the Gainesville Wildcats, an AAU basketball team. His most recent team was the North Georgia Elite basketball team.

"It's an honor to be a part of this program and hopefully we can get this great group of guys playing good basketball, and some exposure to reach their dream," Carroll said.

Head coach Joshua Randolph is excited to have Carroll on board.

"I don't know of any other coach currently in our area that's not a part of a coaching staff in high school or college that has a passion for the game like Coach Carroll," Randolph said.
