GAINESVILLE -- The Gainesville Heat, of the American Basketball Association, announced on Monday the addition of general manager Devaneski Fulton.
Heat head coach Joshua Randolph made the announcement, as his team continues to build toward its inaugural season.
A native of Atlanta, Fulton is excited about the opportunity.
"I cannot wait to help the organization grow and be successful," Fulton said via a press release. "My goals as the GM will be to bring sponsors to the organization, keep the community involved, and work with the elementary, middle, and high schools in the local area. In addition, I want the Gainesville Heat to become a household name and families will come out to support the team 100 percent."
The Heat will begin play in October.
"I'm very delighted to have Devaneski to join our staff as General Manger," Randolph said. "He has a very strong background in marketing, sales, public speaking, and his passion for the game is as strong as mine. Devaneski will handle more of the front office side of things. I've said since I joined the ABA that if you don't have a strong front office to handle off-the-court operations, then I don't believe you can have a successful product on the court. So we are very happy, and welcome Mr. Devaneski to our staff as GM."
