GAINESVILLE - A Cornelia woman who told investigators she liked to blow things up in the woods is set to appear in federal court in Gainesville Friday. Federal agents searched Celia Savage's home May 30. They said they found pipe bombs, firearms and suspected illegal drugs.
Federal authorities told a grand jury that Savage came to their attention after a concerned citizen reported seeing what appeared to be explosive devices in Savage's home.
Savage faces three counts of making and possessing explosive devices and of possessing firearms while unlawfully using controlled substances. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000 on each count.
