NEW YORK -- Atlanta Braves right-hander Brandon Beachy has a partial tear in his elbow and will see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion.
Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez revealed the results of an MRI exam after Monday night's 6-2 loss to the New York Yankees. Gonzalez did not elaborate on the severity of the injury.
Beachy is leading the majors with a 2.00 ERA. The 25-year-old is 5-5 in 13 starts in his first big league season.
Beachy was pulled from a start Saturday night and put on the 15-day disabled list the next day.
