Jackson, White to hold political forums Tuesday

UNDATED - With the July 31 primary just six weeks aways, political forums are beginning to fill the calendar.

The Chambers of Commerce in both Jackson and White Counties have scheduled political candidate forums for Tuesday, June 19.

White County holds its "Eggs and Issues" breakfast at 7:30 a.m. at Cleveland United Methodist Church. The three Republican candidates for the Ninth Congressional District race, Doug Collins, Roger Fitzpatrick and Martha Zoller, are expected to attend. Local legislators and candidates for the White County Commission and White County Board of Education have been invited to the event, as well.

In Jackson County, chamber officials have reserved the Jackson EMC auditorium in Jefferson for a 6:30 p.m. forum. Candidates for State Court Judge, State Senate and Commission Chairman have been invited to speak. Collins, Fitzpatrick and Zoller also have been invited to attend the Jackson County event.
