Community Chorale swings into summer

SAUTEE-NACOOCHEE - The Sautee Nacoochee Community (Chorale (SNCC) is preparing for its Summer 2012 program.

It will feature a range of selections from George Gershwin, Back to the Fifties, some Duke Ellington, and Hoagy Carmichael's Georgia on My Mind. Also in store, some lyrical pieces, including Ashokan Farewell.

The SNCC is made up of about 40 singers who rehearse weekly for three months in order to prepare for the program.

Concerts are scheduled Friday and Saturday, June 22 and 23, at 8 p.m., and Sunday, June 24, at 2 p.m.

Reservation may be made in person by calling 706-878-3300, or via the Sautee-Nacoochee Community Association (SNCA) website www.snca.org. Tickets are $8 for SNCA members, $14 for non-members, and $4 for children (ages 6 to 17). The program is free for children under the age of 6.
