Head of NGMC Emergency Medical Dept. dies

GAINESVILLE - A memorial service will be held Tuesday for Dr. John C. Lewellen, the head of the Emergency Medical Department at Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) for the past five years.

Dr. Lewellen died Friday at his residence.

Prior to being named head of the emergency department, Dr. Lewellen served as the department's assistant director. He recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award from NGMC.

The memorial service will be held at 5:00 Tuesday at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.
