North Georgia Community Foundation marks milestone

By Staff
GAINESVILLE - The North Georgia Community Foundation (NGCF) recently surpassed the $40 million-mark in grants awarded to non-profit organizations from donor endowed funds and its community grants.

Since 1985, the North Georgia Community Foundation has made grants totaling $41,076,826 to non-profits through Community Impact Grants and donor funds.

"The North Georgia Community Foundation gives a philanthropic platform for residents throughout the region," NGCF President Jim Mathis said. "They've responded with donations from their endowment funds to non-profits that offer important services to their neighbors in need."

The Foundation manages nearly 300 individual funds that allow donors to support to non-profit groups and the services they provide their community. NGCF also awards Community Impact Grants annually to non-profit organizations for specific programs. Recently, the Foundation began teaming with the United Way of Hall County for their Unmet Needs Response Fund that provides immediate relief grants to non-profits who are seeing an increased need from their client base.
