GAINESVILLE - Attorney Susan D. Brown announced this week that she will seek the Office of Judge of Hall County Probate Court.
With the announcement, Brown becomes the fourth declared candidate for the office. Current Probate Judge Patti Cornett is retiring.
Brown is the senior attorney with the firm Susan D. Brown and Associates and has been practicing law in Gainesville since 1989. According to a press release, her practice includes family law, probate and real estate matters, guardianships and custody. In addition, Brown is a registered mediator, arbitrator and parenting coordinator.
Before going into private practice, Brown was a clerk for Hulsey, Oliver and Mahar for two years and served as law clerk for the Superior Court of Hall County for three years.
Brown earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Alma College in 1986 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia in 1989.
Brown is a Republican.
She joins Lisa Maniscalco, Patty Walters Laine and Brook Davidson in the race.
