OAKWOOD -- West Hall baseball coach Pete Allen has resigned after three years as the Spartans coach.
West Hall Athletic Director Scott Justus acknowledged the news Friday and said Allen resigned due to family reasons.
"He needs to spend time with his family and felt stepping down at this time was the right thing to do," Justus said. "We are in the process of finding a new coach. We are taking applications beginning immediately."
Allen coached the Spartans for three seasons and finished 7-16 this past season. Allen will remain as an assistant with the girls softball team.
Justus also announced Friday that long-time boys soccer coach Wolfgang Jager has stepped down.
Jager started the West Hall program in 1988 when the school opened and won more than 200 games as the Spartans coach in his 23 seasons.
Justus said they have promoted Adam Johnson, the boys junior varsity coach last season, to the varsity position.was promoted from the JV boys soccer coach to the varsirty.
Jager will stay on to teach math at West Hall next year.
