Another case of rabies found in Hall Co.

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Animal Control has reported another case of rabies in the county.

The latest incident occurred April 17 on Joe Chandler when a rabid raccoon came into contact with two dogs last week.

Positive alert signs are posted in the area. This is the 11th confirmed case of rabies in the county this year.

As with all cases, animal control officials advise if you live in this area or you see an animal acting abnormally, you should contact Hall County Animal Services at 770-531-6830, or during non-working hours call Hall County Dispatch at 770-536-8812.

Animal owners are encouraged to vaccinate their domesticated pets for rabies. Vaccines are available at the Hall County Animal Shelter for $10 Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at 1688 Barber Road, Gainesville.
