HOMER -- Jefferson clinched a berth in the Class AA state baseball playoffs after pounding Banks County 10-2 in the deciding Game 3 ofd their Region 8-AA first round series.
The Dragons advanced to play North Oconee in the semifinals in a best-of-three series beginning Monday in Bogart.
Tyler Cole had three hits and one RBI and Andy Nicholas and Hanon Price each had two RBI to lead the Dragons offense. Austin Thompson and Andrew Bartek each had one hit and Thompson and Trent Sorrells each had one RBI for Jefferson.
Jacob Page earned the win for Jefferson scattering five hits in six inning while striking out four.
