ROSWELL - The mauling of a dog in the Atlanta suburbs has renewed concerns about coyotes that prowl subdivisions.
Joe Feinberg said that Saturday's attack left his 40-pound Australian shepherd mix with several gash wounds.
Feinberg told reporters that a veterinarian who stitched up the dog told him the animal is lucky to be alive after the attack. Feinberg said the ordeal has left him fearful of letting his 3-year-old daughter out at night.
Roswell is one of several metro Atlanta communities trying to figure out how to deal with coyotes. Sandy Springs and Decatur have also reported issues with the animals.
In Sandy Springs, the Huntcliff Homeowner's Association recently hired a trapper to deal with coyotes in that neighborhood.
