UNDATED - State emergency officials have issued a fire danger statement for a large portion of north and central Georgia for Tuesday.
Weather officials predict relative humidity will fall into the 20 to 25 percent range across those portions of the state Tuesday afternoon. This will combine with occasional wind gusts of 20 to 25 MPH and fairly dry fuels to create an increased fire danger risk across the area.
Residents should check with local burn permitting authorities to determine if burning is allowed Tuesday. For those who do conduct outdoor burning, use extreme caution, sinc fire can quickly get out of control under these weather conditions.
The fire danger statement remains active until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday.
