Forsyth Co. commissioners delay water contract vote

By B.J. Williams
CUMMING - Forsyth County commissioners decided Thursday night to hold off on a vote on extending water contracts with the city of Cumming.

County spokeswoman Jodi Gardner said the vote will come at the commission's April 19th meeting.

Forsyth County buys both treated and untreated water from the city of Cumming. Some commissioners have complained that the city charges too much for water.

In addition, Cumming officials have asked that Forsyth County help pay for a new water intake system from Lake Lanier and the county apparently has not responded to that request.

The current water contracts between Forsyth County and Cumming expire May 26.
