City council to hear 1st budget presentations Thur.

GAINESVILLE - The Gainesville City Council Thursday will hear its first budget presentations for the coming fiscal year.

The agenda for Thursday's council work session includes budget presentations, starting at 9:00, from Public Works, the Solid Waste Fund, Airport Fund, Vehicle Services and the Georgia Mountains Center.

David Dockery, Public Works Director, will speak to the council on all but the mountains center, which will be addressed by Assistant City Manager Angela Sheppard.

City Manager Kip Padgett said Tuesday morning "they (the presenters) will be discussing goals and objectives. The money part will be presented in May when I present the city budget."

Each spring the City of Gainesville, like many local governments around the state, begins formulating a budget for the new fiscal year, which begins July 1.
