ATLANTA -- An assistant men's tennis coach at Georgia Tech is jailed without bond on a rape charge.
Fulton County Jail records show that Conor Pollock also faces charges of cocaine and marijuana possession after his arrest Saturday. The records do not list an attorney, and no one answered a phone number listed to him Tuesday.
Atlanta police say Pollock approached a 23-year-old woman leaving a Buckhead bar and invited her to his nearby apartment, and she and a female friend went there. Police spokesman John Chafee tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (http://bit.ly/H8g8ZA ) that one of the women told police she woke up and the suspect was raping her.
Georgia Institute of Technology said in a statement that Pollock, a former All-American tennis player at Texas A&M, has been placed on administrative leave with pay.
