Tennis: Chestatee boys sweep Franklin Co.

CARNESVILLE -- The Chestatee boys tennis team did not drop a set in beating Franklin County 5-0 Tuesday in Region 8A-AAA action.

In singles action, Jonathan Cook took a tough 7-5, 6-4 win over Gaines Bullock at No. 1 while Jeremiah Reed beat Nick Martin 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 2 slot. Juan Carrion knocked off Brandon Myers 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3.

In doubles - the No. 1 team of Blaine Brown and Reed Johnson beat Jack McRee and Aaron Payne 6-3, 6-3 and the No. 2 team of Casey Campbell and Dillan Stapler whipped Luke Fowler and Adam Brown 6-3, 6-4 to complete the sweep.

The War Eagles, who improved to 5-2 in subregion play, will play host to Stephens County Thursday looking to avenge a 3-2 loss to the Indians earlier in the season.
