Beachy shaky in Braves' loss to St. Louis

JUPITER, FLORIDA - Atlanta starter Brandon Beachy issued five of the Braves' 12 walks in a 5-4 loss Monday in Jupiter, Fla. Atlanta is 1-10 this spring.

Carlos Beltran went 2-for-4 in his return following a bout with the flu, and Kolten Wong singled in the winning run with two outs in the ninth inning as a St. Louis Cardinals split squad game.

Beltran singled in the third and seventh innings, swinging at the first pitch both times.

The teams combined to walk 20 players.

After a smooth first inning, Beachy's command faltered in the second. He allowed one hit and three walks, including Erik Kamatsu to bring in the Cardinals' first run. Beachy walked to more in the third.

Cardinals starter Jaime Garcia allowed one run, three hits and two walks. Only 21 of his 40 pitches were strikes.
