One candidate drops out of Hall Co. sheriff's race

GAINESVILLE - The candidate list for the next sheriff in Hall County is now a bit shorter after Chad Cobb withdrew from the race.

In a press release, Cobb formally withdrew his candidacy for Hall County Sheriff and in turn, announced his endorsement of Gerald Couch.

Cobb had entered the race saying that if "the right person entered the race" that he would back out and give them his full support.

There are now seven candidates for the sheriff's post.
