CLEVELAND -- The Chestatee girls tennis team earned its first victory of the season with a 4-1 win over White County Thursday night.
After dropping the No. 1 singles match, the Lady War Eagles stormed back to win the rest of the matches.
In the No. 1 singles match, White County's Sarabeth Cummins beat Fernanda Arcaraz 6-1, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Lily Kiang defeated Hannah Kidd 6-0, 6-3 and Lauren McNitt beat Taylor Freeman 6-2, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
In doubles, Carolina Gijon and Haley King defeated Aubrie Gstalder and Breanna Harkins, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 1 while Ali Eberhardt and Andrea Escamilla beat Tori Parks and Kailee Norris 6-3, 5-7, (7-3) in a tie-breaker to decide the shortened match at No. 2 doubles.
