Injured Marine arrives in US

GAINESVILLE - A Hall County Marine injured last week in Afghanistan has been transferred to the Walter Reed Medical Center where he's undergoing treatment after losing both legs and sufering other severe injuries.

The parents of 19-year-old PFC Sean Adams are on their way to Bethesda, MD to be at their son's side.

Members of the Adams family were interviewed by Atlanta's Fox 5 TV Tuesday. Tina Adams, Sean's mother, said despite reports indicating Sean had wanted to be a Marine since age 14, she worried about that decision.

"My fear has been that something bad was going to happen," said Tina Adams.

And she told the television station, she's not sure what to expect when she and her husband Hugh arrive at the hospital.

"I'm terrified that [he's] not going to be my son, that [he's] not going to look like my son."

Sean Adams, a 2011 graduate of Chestatee High School, stepped on an IED while on patrol Friday in Afghanistan.
