RABBITTOWN -- The Dawson County boys basketball team advanced to the second round of the Region 8-AA tournament after whipping East Jackson 58-45 on Monday night at East Hall High School.
The Tigers (20-6) outscored the Eagles (6-20) in every quarter in earning the win. They led 18-14 after the first quarter, 29-21 at halftime and then 43-30 heading into the fourth quarter.
Dawson County next will take on Elbert County on Wednesday. The winner will earn a spot in the state tournament.
Will Anglin Dawson County with 16 points. Tyler Dominy and Gunnar Armstrong each had 13 points and Bruce Clark scored 10 for the Tigers
