CARNESVILLE -- Lumpkin County rallied from an early deficit to stun West Hall 62-56 Monday night in the first round of the Region 8-AAA boys basketball tournament at Franklin County High in Carnesville.
The Indians (3-23) trailed 28-25 at halftime. But Lumpkin used a 24-16 fourth quarter to earn the win.
Hunter Polk led Lumpkin with 13 points. Devonte Anderson added 12 points and Malik Anderson had nine points for the Indians.
Tyswon Cantrell paced West Hall (11-14) with a game-high 28 points. Hunter Atkinson added 13 for the Spartans.
Lumpkin County moves on to face North Hall at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at North Hall.
West Hall's season is now complete.
