Boys basketball: Knights snap losing streak

OAKWOOD -- Johnson snapped a three-game losing streak with a 68-58 win over lanier Friday night at home.

Johnson led 15-14 at the end of the 1st quarter but outscored Lanier 26-15 in the second quarter to take a 41-29 lead at halftime. Lanier used 19-9 third quarter to cut the lead to 50-48 but Johnson asnwered with an 18-10 fourth quarter to put the game away.

Matt Hollis led Johnson (11-13, 3-8 in Region 8B-AAA) with 18 points. Montrell McKenzie recorded another double-double with 11 points and 14 rebounds for the Knights. A.J. Benefield added 11 points and 9 rebounds and Ty Odem also scored 11 points for Johnson.

Lanier (12-12, 4-7) was led by M.J. Bryant with 15 points and Andre Irvin with 12 points.
