ATLANTA - Mimi Collins, CEO of The Longstreet Clinic (TLC) has been appointed to the Georgia Board of Community Health (DCH) by Gov. Nathan Deal.
Collins is entering her 17th year as CEO of The Longstreet Clinic, a private, independent multi-specialty medical group in Gainesville.
The Georgia Department of Community Health is responsible for Medicaid and PeachCare for Kids, the State Health Benefit Plan, Healthcare Facility Regulation and Health Information Technology in Georgia. It is governed by a nine-person board appointed by the Governor.
Collins said she is honored by the appointment.
"I'd like to thank Gov. Deal for this opportunity to serve the people of Georgia," Collins said. "The job of the DCH is to provide access to affordable, quality healthcare to millions across the state, including vulnerable and underserved populations. I look forward to being a part of that mission."
