JEFFERSON - A single-vehicle accident in Jefferson last week resulted in the death of the vehicle's driver.
According to Jackson County Emergency Services Director Steve Nichols, rescue units received an emergency call in the early hours of the morning on December 5th reporting an auto accident with injuries and fire.
Upon arriving at the 2300 block of Apple Valley Road, rescue workers found a vehicle fully consumed by flames. The driver, an unidentified male victim, had been ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
An investigation is being conducted by the Georgia State Patrol and the Jackson County Coroner's Office. No other injuries were reported.
