Why I am voting for a man who is a member of a Non-Christian Sect

As an Evangelical Christian, allow me to address the "elephant in the room". How can I, an Evangelical Christian, vote for Mitt Romney, a member of a non-Christian faith?

Bottom line: I value candidates for public office who most clearly and competently share my worldview and political views.

I find myself in a unique place, given that presently a member of a non-Christian sect running for President shares more of my values and moral commitments than a current President who says he is a Christian.

I can find no compromise of scripture for an Evangelical like myself desiring to vote for candidates for public office who most closely identify with my personal beliefs and worldview.

Two specific points give clarity to the issue.

First, competence for public office is an important Christian concern. Christians, along with the general public, are not well served by political leaders who, although identify themselves as Christian, are incompetent.

Second, Christians in other countries and in other political contexts have had to address this same issue. For instance, Christian citizens of Turkey must choose among Muslim candidates and parties when voting. Likewise, voters in many western states in the United States often have to choose among Mormon candidates. They vote for a Mormon or they do not vote at all.

Finally, I find more than ample reason for me, an Evangelical Christian, to vote for Mitt Romney instead of Barrack Obama.

- I do not share Obama's vision or value system for America;

- I do not share his views that Radical Islam is our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;

- I do not share his abortion beliefs;

- I do not share his philosophy of re-distributing wealth;

- I do not share his view that America is arrogant;

- I do not share his view that America is not a Christian nation;

- I do not share his view that the military should be reduced by 25%;

- I do not share his views on homosexuality and his definition of marriage;

- I do not share his re-worked beliefs regarding healthcare;

Given that Mitt Romney's views on the topics such as Taxes, Sexuality, Care for the Poor, the Military and The Pro-life Issue PLUS my opinion that he would be a more competent President who values more of my moral beliefs, I find no option than to pray for and support a person of a non-Christian Sect to be the next President of the United States.
God, Please Bless America.
