GAINESVILLE - PumpkinFest '12, an outreach to families of all ages in the region, is set for Wednesday, October 31 at Lakewood Baptist of Gainesville.
Free activities include inflatables, petting zoo, hay rides, turkey shoots, family photos and a hay maze designed especially for pre-schoolers. The church hosts the annual fall celebration from 5:30-8:00, and there is no admission charge and individual activities are free.
"We're excited to offer a variety of meals to purchase from local and area vendors. There will be lots to choose from and space to sit and enjoy a meal with family and friends," says Elizabeth Ormsbee, children's minister, "and costumes are welcomed but not required."
Meals may be purchased from Jack's Old South BBQ, Bucket O' Shrimp, Happy Belly Truck or Dogs on Wheels Hotdogs. Additionally, free food includes roasted corn, boiled peanuts, popcorn, ice cream, cotton candy and in the cupcake walk.
Senior pastor Tom Smiley said, "Our annual fall festival demonstrates Lakewood's commitment to loving and reaching folks in northeast Georgia."
