Strong finish leads PC volleyball to 3-1 win over Agnes Scott

DEMOREST -- The Piedmont College volleyball team posted a 3-1 home victory over the visiting Scotties of Agnes Scott College on Tuesday in non-conference action at Cave Arena. Piedmont needed four sets to earn the 25-21, 20-25, 25-12, 25-21 victory to move to 13-4 overall on the season.<br />

After splitting the first two sets, PC rallied to earn an easy 25-12 victory in the third and secured the victory with a tighter 25-21 win in the fourth. <br />
<br />
Kaitlin Norman (14) of Good Hope and Taylor Cramsey (10) of Jefferson each reached double figures in kills to lead the PC offense. Cramsey's 10 kills was a season-high for the freshman.<br />
<br />
Xandy Green (19) of Kennesaw and Katheryn Knarr (15) of Chickamauga totaled 34 assists, while Paige Eslinger of Ringgold came off the bench to record a team-high 13 digs in just two sets.<br />
<br />
Agnes Scott was led by 12 kills from Morgan Bender of Chino Hills, Calif., while Claire Brummeler of Powder Springs totaled a double-double of 31 assists and 16 digs.<br />
<br />
The victory moves Piedmont to a perfect 7-0 in Cave Arena. The Lady Lions will look to keep their streak alive on Oct. 4 with another home contest against Reinhardt University with first serve scheduled for 7 p.m.
