GAINESVILLE -- Gainesville held Lanier to just six first half points in taking a 55-42 win over Lanier Tuesday night in Region 8B-AAA play.
The Red Elephants (15-8, 9-2 in subregion) got another big game from Shaquan Cantrell, who had 24 points and eight rebounds to lead Gainesville. Lance White added 13 points and five assists for the Elephants.
gainesville never trailed in the game and built leads as big as 22 points in the second half.
Jordan Davis led Lanier with 14 points.
Gainesville next will travel to East Hall on Saturday.
