ATLANTA - The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office has identified a body found in southwest Atlanta as Stacey Nicole English, the Atlanta woman who was reported missing last month.
The medical examiner's office said in a statement the autopsy did not disclose an apparent cause of death for the 36-year-old.
English was last seen the day after Christmas and was reported missing Dec. 31.
Authorities said her body was found Jan. 23 underneath a fallen tree in southeast Atlanta, near the area where police had found her car abandoned with its engine running.
The medical examiner used dental records to confirm the identity Wednesday morning. Officials said they need to do further investigation and testing to determine a cause of her death. They said that might take several weeks.
