Moore says he was fined $7,500 by NFL for hit

By The Associated Press
FLOWERY BRANCH -- Falcons safety William Moore says he was fined $7,500 by the NFL for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman.

Moore did not draw a penalty on the hit. He said Wednesday he didn't agree with the fine but didn't say if he planned to file an appeal. He says he thought it was a legal hit but added he will have to ``adjust on the fly'' following the fine.

Moore had four tackles and an interception in the Falcons' 16-13 loss to the Buccaneers on Sunday.

It is the second straight week an Atlanta defensive back has been fined by the league. Cornerback Dunta Robinson was fined $40,000 for leading with his helmet on his hit on Philadelphia receiver Jeremy Maclin on Sept. 18.
