CLARKESVILLE - Funeral services will be held Wednesday for long-time Habersham County physician Dr. L.G. Hicks, who died Sunday following a lengthy illness.
Dr. Hicks practiced family medicine in Habersham County beginning in 1952, forming Habersham Medical Group with Dr. Thomas Lumsden, Dr. Lee Walker and Dr. Charles Henry in 1955. He retired from his practice in June 2003.
In addition to his private practice, he served at one time as Chief of Staff for Habersham Medical Center, and he served for 30 years as the Chairman of the Board of Health for the Habersham County Health Department. Dr. Hicks was a lifetime member of the Georgia Academy of Family Practice.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville.
