GAINESVILLE -- Lakeview Academy swept a pair of matches Thursday in girls volleyball action.
The Lady Lions opened with an Area 8A/AA win over Tallulah Falls, 25-10, 25-17 and then held on to beat Johnson 25-18, 19-25, 25-12 in three games.
Lakeview was paced by Jamie Nixon with 14 kills and four blocks. Mona Abraham had 11 digs and five kills and Molly Gay added 11 assists for the Lady Lions.
Johnson split the matches after beating Tallulah Falls 25-9, 25-23.
Johnson got contributions from several players. Christina Petit had four aces, Karis Sloan had three kills and three blocks, and Lindsey Anderson added two blocks for the Lady Knights.
Kelly Chance had two aces, Savannah Turk had four kills and 12 digs, Sophia Love had five assists, and Lejavian Ratliff had 13 digs for Johnson.
The Lady Knights (12-13) next will play in the Flowery Branch tournament on Saturday.
