Softball: Union keeps pace in 8A-AA

TIGER -- Union County assured itself of remianing in at least a tie for second place in Region 8A-AA after taking a 10-1 win in five innings over Rabun County Tuesday in girls softball action.

The Class AA sixth-ranked Lady Panthers (16-5, 5-2) won for the second straight time behind a 13-hit attack from the offense. Catie Tanner, Hannah Hughes, Callie Dyer, Shawnna Brown, and Amber Seeba each had two hits to lead the barrage. Tanner, Brown, and Seeba each had two RBI for Union County.

Angie Hughes and Bailey Byers combined for a four-hitter with Hughes fanning eight in three innings.

Union County took the lead in the second with a run and then blew the game open with six runs in the third and three in the fourth.
