ATHENS -- Athens Christian scored with 11 seconds left to spoil a second half comeback by Banks County in a 27-21 win over the Leopards on Friday night.
Banks County (2-2) opened the game with a 4-yard TD run from Tyler Hubbard for a 7-0 lead, but the Eagles would score 20 unanswered points to grab a 20-7 advantage.
Banks County cut its deficit to 20-13 early in the fourth quarter on a 50-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Rayshawn Hunter. The Leopards then took the lead midway through the final quarter when Dean Ewing scored on a short run and then Hubbard connected with Ewing on a two-point conversion for a 21-20 advantage.
But Athens Christain answered right back, capping a quick drive with a touchdown run in the final seconds.
Ewing finished with 72 yards rushing for Banks County.
The Leopards will take a bye next week before taking on Union County on Sept. 30.
