JEFFERSON -- Jackson County ran its winning streak to eight with an 8-2 win over Hart County Thursday in Region 8B-AA action.
The win kept the Lady Panthers (16-3, 7-1 in subregion) in first place in the subregion just one-half game ahead of North Oconee.
Jackson County was paced by Madison Whitmire, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and also scored a run. Mason Garland had one hit and two RBI and Macey Latty went had two hits and one RBI for Jackson County.
Haley Shinall picked up the win with five strikeouts in sevenn innings.
Jackson County will wrap up its home schedule Tuesday in another Region 8B-AA battle against Elbert County.
