Gainesville woman charged in jewelry theft cases

GAINESVILLE - A Gainesville woman, 43-year-old Cindy Wingo, has been charged with stealing a total of $3,500 in jewelry in two separate cases.

Sgt. Stephen Wilbanks of the Hall County Sheriff's Office said Wingo is charged with stealing $800 worth of jewelry from a house on Old Cornelia Highway in Lula and $2,700 worth from a house on Joe Chandler Road.

Wilbanks said investigators have reason to believe Wingo may have been involved in additional thefts in the area.

"We don't have anything specific at this time, but investigators do have reason to believe that Ms. Wingo may be responsible for some additional thefts in the area," he said.
