CLEVELAND - Cleveland City officials are expected to decide later this month whether or not they will begin issuing licenses for beer and wine sales.
After three public hearings held in July to get input from local citizens and asking other citizens to fill out survey forms, the city council said it is about ready to release the results of the input.
Tuesday night the city council agreed to hold a public information meeting September 19th at 7:00 pm to discuss the results. Councilman Rush Mauney said following that meeting he will offer a motion that will allow the council to make a decision on the topic of the issuance of alcoholic beverage licenses in the city.
Mauney said following the information meeting council members should have all the information they need to make a decision.
Attending Tuesday's meeting were a few members of the recently-formed Facebook group Concerned Citizens For Cleveland as well as newly-qualified candidates for city council positions in the November election.
