COMMERCE -- Jackson County pushed its win streak to seven after taking a 7-1 win over East Jackson Thursday in Region 8B-AA play.
The Lady Panthers (8-2, 4-0 in subregion) moved into first place in the subregion with the win, one-half game ahead of Jefferson.
Senior Haley Shinall gave up just one hit and fanned 11 in getting the complete-game victory. Shinall also had a big game at the plate going 2-for-3 with one RBI and scoring one ru.
Victoria Fontana had three hits and two RBI for Jackson County. Mason Garland had three hits and Jessica Baker had one hit and two RBI for the Lady Panthers.
jackson County next will play host to Class AA No. 4 North Oconee on Tuesday in a battle for first place in the subregion.
