ATLANTA - The state has approved the financing for environmental projects in four Georgia communities, including two in North Georgia, totaling nearly $9 million.
The board of directors of the Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) approved plans for projects in the cities of Dillard, Donalsonville, Pooler and Winder.
Dillard was approved for a loan of $750,000 to finance installing water lines connecting the city's sewer customers to its new water system.
Winder was approved for a loan of $1.2 million to finance installing 12,000 linear feet of water main.
In addtion, Donalsonville was approved for a $6 million loan to upgrade a water pollution control plant from 400,000 gallons per day to 1 million gallons. Pooler was approved for a $992,000 loan to finance constructing a well and installing 3,245 linear feet of water main.
