OAKWOOD -- Jackson County's Xavier Harper returned a kickoff 92 yards for a score to answer a score by Johnson and the Panthers never trailed again en route to a 20-12 win over Johnson friday night at Billy Ellis Memorial Stadium.
Harper's thrilling return came after the Knights had taken the quick lead capping their first drive of the game with a touchdown. harper would help Jackson County extend its lead in the second quarter reeling in a 24-yard pass from Kyle Daniel for a 14-6 lead.
Daniel would connect with Jalen Banks on a 4-yard TD pass for a 20-6 lead.
Johnson got to within the final score but Jackson County ran out the final few minutes of the clock to seal the victory.
